
UCLA Places 11 Bruins on MPSF All-Academic Team

LOS ANGELES – A total of 11 members of the UCLA women's water polo team earned MPSF All-Academic honors in 2023, the league announced today.
The 11 Bruins on the list are highlighted by two four-time, two three-time, three two-time, and four first-time honorees.
In order to qualify as an MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a 3.00-or-better cumulative grade point average (GPA), be no lower than a sophomore in academic standing, have competed in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions, and have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is received.
Graduate student utility Katrina Drake (3.900, Orinda, Calif./Miramonte HS) and graduate student center Ava Johnson (4.000, Walnut Creek, Calif./Las Lomas HS) each earned their fourth MPSF All-Academic selections.
Senior attackers Brooke Doten (3.800, Davis, Calif./Davis Senior HS) and Hannah Palmer (3.320, Irvine, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) each earned their third-straight MPSF All-Academic selections.
Redshirt senior Georgia Phillips (3.130, Fresno, Calif./Clovis North HS), junior attacker Anneliese Miller (3.770, Danville, Calif./Monte Vista HS), and senior attacker Fiona Kuesis (3.500, Santa Barbara, Calif./San Marcos HS) earned MPSF All-Academic honors for the second time in their careers.
The four Bruins that earned 2023 MPSF All-Academic honors for the first time in their careers include graduate student attacker Val Ayala (4.000, Anaheim, Calif./Foothill HS), sophomore attacker Emma Lineback (3.600, Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach HS), sophomore attacker Molly Renner (3.460, Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach HS), and sophomore utility Nicole Struss (3.570, Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach HS).
