UCLA Men's Basketball Signs Ilane Fibleuil

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's basketball program has received a signed grant-in-aid from Ilane Fibleuil, as announced on Wednesday by Mick Cronin, The Michael Price Family UCLA Men's Head Basketball Coach.
Ilane Fibleuil (pronounced eh-LAHN FEEB-lay) hails from France, where he played for the National Institute of Sport, Expertise and Performance in Paris (INSEP Academy). He competed last summer for France at the FIBA U-17 World Cup in Malaga, Spain, where he led his team to a 6-1 record while averaging a team-high 12.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game.
"Ilane is a 6-foot-7 wing guard with great length and athleticism," Cronin said. "We saw him at last year's FIBA U-17 World Cup in Spain, where he was a first-team all-tournament selection, and we've been recruiting him hard since then. Ilane has great potential as a two-way player. He can shoot and slash and he defends at a high level with great anticipation skills. Ilane is a high-character young man from a great family, and he is a perfect fit for our program."
Fibleuil shot 60.3 percent from the field in seven FIBA tournament games last summer, knocking down 8 of 13 attempts from 3-point territory (61.5 percent). He was one of five players to secure all-tournament team distinction.
Fibleuil joins an incoming class that includes three other high school standouts – Devin Williams from Lake Elsinore, Calif., Brandon Williams (no relation) from New York, and Sebastian Mack from Las Vegas – and incoming transfer Lazar Stefanovic. Devin Williams, Brandon Williams and Mack all signed with the Bruins in Nov. 2022, during the early signing period. Stefanovic played the past two seasons at the University of Utah and will be a junior in 2023-24.
