Anastasi, Irvine Join UCLA Gymnastics Team for 2024 Season

Paige Anastasi and Alex Irvine will join the UCLA Gymnastics team as freshmen in Fall 2023, the R.C. Rothman UCLA Head Gymnastics Coach Janelle McDonald announced today.

Anastasi, an Andover, Mass. native who trains at Brestyan'sย Gymnastics, is a four-time Development Program National Championships competitor. She has a pair of Top 15 finishes on vault (2023, 2021) and finished 12th on floor in 2022. In 2021, she finished in the Top 20 in the all-around. At the Region 6 Championships, she won the all-around, vault and uneven bars and finished second on balance beam and floor exercise in 2023. She also has a Top 10 all-around finish in 2022 and Top 3 finishes in the all-around and on bars and floor in 2021. At the State level, she won the vault title and was second on bars in 2022, and in 2021, she won silver in the all-around and on vault and bars. Anastasi has high marks of 9.950 on vault, 9.750 on bars and floor, 9.650 on beam and 38.525 in the all-around.

Irvine, who is from Roseville, Calif. and trains at Byers Gymnastics, placed third on vault at the 2022 Development Program National Championships with a career-best mark of 9.675. She won the 2022 NorCal State title on vault and was second on uneven bars and third in the all-around and placed third on floor and fifth on vault at the Region 1 Championships. In 2021, she won bronze on uneven bars at the Region 1 Championships. Irvine's high marks include 9.725 on bars and 38.100 in the all-around.
