UCLA Athletics Announces New Annual Fund Record
July 20, 2023 | Bruin Athletics
LOS ANGELES - UCLA Athletics announced today that the Wooden Athletic Fund has set a new annual fund record of $17,449,176 from nearly 4,000 generous individual donors for the 2023-24 membership year.
ย
This record total in annual support, surpassing the previous annual high of $17.22M for the 2022-23 membership year, has been received with more than four months remaining in the 2023-24 membership drive. The total includes $2,377,515 in gift commitments from new supporters and donors who increased their annual gift commitments above 2022-23 levels.
ย
"As we move to the Big Ten Conference next year, it means a lot see how our donors have stepped up," said the Alice and Nahum Lainer Family Director of Athletics Martin Jarmond. "Philanthropic support makes a huge impact on our ability to provide an ELITE student-athlete experience, and seeing two consecutive years of record annual fund support shows how our alumni and fans are behind what we are working to achieve. I'm thankful to all of our generous donors who continue to invest in our student-athletes."
ย
For the first time since 2006, Wooden Athletic Fund annual giving levels were adjusted, and new membership benefits for donors were added this year. This puts UCLA Athletics in a position to offer enhanced student-athlete support in academics, coaching, athletic training, nutrition, mental health and wellness, and much more โ all critical elements to help attract, develop and retain the most talented student-athletes in the country.
ย
In addition to the new giving levels for 2023-24, the "42 Society" giving level was established to provide transformational impact on an ELITE student-athlete experience. Members of the exclusive 42 Society commit to contributing at least $100,000 annually to the Wooden Athletic Fund over a five-year period. Since the launch of the 42 Society in February 2023, UCLA Athletics has already received 27 commitments of $100,000 or more to the Wooden Athletic Fund. These commitments are in addition to more than 250 existing annual memberships of more than $30,000 as part of the Wooden Athletic Fund's "Director's Circle" and "Wooden Benefactor" major giving levels.
ย
The Wooden Athletic Fund offers 10 different levels of membership, each with exclusive benefits offered in appreciation for donors' investments in the success of UCLA Athletics. Opportunities for support are available beginning at less than $9 per month, with membership benefits extending through June 30, 2024 for the current 2023-24 membership year. More information about Wooden Athletic Fund membership can be found here.
ย
The Wooden Athletic Fund is dedicated to honoring the lasting educational and athletic legacy of Nell and John Wooden. Together, members of the Wooden Athletic Fund provide invaluable support for UCLA's student-athletes, and every gift has a positive impact on their ability to succeed in the classroom, in competition and in the community.
