Betts, Osborne Claim Silver with USA at 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup

LÉON, Mexico – UCLA's Lauren Betts and Charisma Osborne earned silver with USA Basketball at the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup Sunday. Team USA fell to Brazil 58-69 in the final game of the nine-day tournament in Léon, Mexico.
The Bruin center finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds and a block in the effort. Osborne added four points, four rebounds and four assists to the stat sheet with a block of her own.
Betts was the team's second-leading scorer with 11.4 points per game and USA's second-leading rebounder as she grabbed 10.9 rebounds per contest. The rising sophomore shot 72.7% from the field and had double-doubles in five of her seven appearances. Betts blocked a team-best 2.1 shots per game, totaling 15 rejections in the tournament.
Osborne averaged 5.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and a team-leading 3.0 assists per game as she assumed floor general duties. The Moreno Valley shooting guard started all seven games for USA Basketball in the tournament. Osborne got it done on the defensive end, averaging 0.7 steals and 0.6 blocks per game. The Bruin was fourth-highest on the team in stocks (steals plus blocks).
Betts earns her third medal with USA Basketball (Silver – 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup; Gold - 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup; Gold - 2019 FIBA Americas U16 Championship) and Osborne collects her second with the team (Silver – 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup; Gold – 2018 USA U17 World Cup).
