Defender Jayden Perry of the UCLA women's soccer team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for Aug. 14-20.
Perry, a junior from Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., scored the game-winning goal and contributed to a season-opening shutout in the defending NCAA champion's 2-0 victory over Georgia on Aug. 17. Perry's goal came on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute and was the second of her career. Her defensive presence helped limit Georgia to just three shots in the game, only two of which were on frame.
This is Perry's first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and her career.
