LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's soccer program on Thursday officially announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024 season. The Bruins will open the season with a home exhibition against Cal State Bakersfield (Aug. 12), before starting the regular season with a match at LMU on Thursday, August 22.
UCLA's regular season home-opener against James Madison is set for Sunday, August 25. The Bruins' first match against Big Ten competition comes at Northwestern on Friday, September 13.
Other non-league matches include Portland (Aug. 30), Cal State Fullerton (Sept. 5), Denver (Sept. 9), and Westmont (Sept. 24).
Including the Bruins' inaugural Big Ten matchup at Northwestern, UCLA will play 10 league matches, five at home and five on the road. UCLA will take on Michigan (Sept. 21), Michigan State (Sept. 27), Ohio State (Oct. 11), Indiana (Oct. 25) and Washington (Nov. 3) at home, and will play Northwestern (Sept. 13), Wisconsin (Sept. 16), Penn State (Oct. 4), Rutgers (Oct. 18) and Maryland (Oct. 21) on the road.
The Big Ten Tournament is scheduled for November 7-17 at campus sites, while the NCAA Tournament begins with the first-round matches on November 21.
UCLA is coming off a strong 2023 season in which they went 9-4-5 and won the final Pac-12 title in Ryan Jorden's fifth year in charge of the program.
