Rice Tabbed for Nancy Lieberman Award Top 10

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. – Sophomore Kiki Rice of UCLA Women's Basketball has been recognized as a candidate for the 2024 Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year Award, making the cut for the top 10 point guards in the nation. The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced the Top 10 candidates for the 2024 Nancy Lieberman Award Monday.
Rice ranks second in the Pac-12 in assists per game (5.6 APG) and is averaging 12.9 points per game this season. The Bethesda, Md., recorded her first-career triple double in the win against CSUN on Dec. 7 (14 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists), and she swiped a career-high seven steals against the Matadors. Rice has three double-doubles on the year, including a 24-point, 11-rebound effort against then-No. 6 UConn (W, 78-67) – both her points and rebounding totals set new career highs.
The point guard has surpassed important milestones in points (600+), rebounds (250+) and assists (200+) during her sophomore season.

The winner of the 2024 Lieberman Award will be presented on a to be determined date, along with the four other members of the Women's Starting Five. Additional awards being presented include the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award (Shooting Guard), Cheryl Miller Award (Small Forward), Katrina McClain Award (Power Forward), and the Lisa Leslie Award (Center), in addition to the Men's Starting Five.
