November 11, 2024 | Women's Basketball
LOS ANGELES – Graduate forward Angela Dugalić returns from a weekend abroad with Team Serbia, earning two wins in two starts at the FIBA Women's EuroBasket Qualifiers 2025.
Dugalić scored nine points and grabbed eight boards in the opening match Thursday, downing Portugal 71-37. She had three steals in the win, and five total on the weekend.
The Serbian forward was in the starting lineup for the second-consecutive game in Sunday's win over Ukraine; Dugalić put up seven points (3-for-6 FG) and snagged a trio of boards in the 26-point victory.
Serbia is now 4-0 in group play, with the first two wins coming in November 2023 against North Macedonia and Ukraine. The team finishes group play Feb. 6-9, taking on North Macedonia and Portugal.
The Bruin is on track to qualify with Serbia for the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2025; the international competition will be held in the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece and Italy from June 18-29, 2025. The top six teams in that tournament will qualify for one of the qualifying tournaments for the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. Germany has automatically qualified as host, and Belgium is the defending champion.
