Honorary captains for Saturday's contest include star linebackers Brendon Ayanbadejo, Anthony Barr and Donnie Edwards and one of the greatest running backs in UCLA history, Gaston Green.

Barr, a star linebacker for the Bruins in 2012 and 2013 after making the switch from running back, ranks in the top 10 in UCLA's career record books in sacks (23.5) and tackles for loss (41.5). Barr's iconic UCLA-USC rivalry game moment came in 2012 when he hammered Trojans QB Matt Barkley on a blindside sack with 2:21 left to play to put the game on ice and secure a 38-28 win. He beat USC twice in both the 2012 and 2013 games. In 2012, Barr recorded 13.5 sacks and 21.5 tackles for loss, which ranks second and fourth in UCLA single-season history, respectively. Barr captured UCLA's first Lott IMPACT Trophy in 2013 and was a two-time All-American.

Ayanbadejo, who played linebacker for the Bruins from 1996-98, is best known for his four-sack game against the Trojans in 1998 to help the Bruins win the eighth straight meeting over their arch-rival, 34-17. Ayanbadejo finished 1998 with 9.0 sacks and All-Pac-10 First Team honors. He later played in two Super Bowls for the Baltimore Ravens (2013) and Chicago Bears (2007).

Edwards received All-America honors in 1994 at UCLA after leading the Pac-10 Conference in tackles for loss with 21.0. He finished his Bruin career third on the all-time tackles for loss list (38.0) and fifth in career sacks (22.5). Edwards was undefeated against USC in his four years at UCLA from 1992-95. Edwards went on to be selected in the fourth round of the 1996 NFL Draft and produced 11 straight seasons of at least 15 games started and 100 tackles while playing for the San Diego Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2006, he became one of only eight players in NFL history to record at least 20 interceptions and 20 sacks for an NFL career.

Green was a star tailback for the Bruins from 1984-87, finishing his career first on UCLA's all-time rushing yards list (3,731) before being overtaking by Johnathan Franklin in 2012 (4,403). Green owns the most 100-yard rushing games in UCLA history (20). Against USC in 1986, Green ran all over the Trojans for a program-record tying five touchdowns to help the Bruins to a 45-25 rout. Later that season, he set a UCLA bowl game record of 266 rushing yards versus BYU in the Freedom Bowl. Green's 17 touchdowns in 1986 rank as fourth-most in UCLA single-season history.
