
UCLA Picked Second in Pac-12 Preseason Coaches Poll

LOS ANGELES – The No. 10 UCLA softball team was picked to finish second in the 2024 Pac-12 Preseason Coaches Poll, it was announced by the conference Thursday afternoon. Maya Brady, Megan Grant, Sharlize Palacios and Jordan Woolery were named to the 20-player Preseason All-Pac-12 Team.
UCLA received 54 of 65 possible points, and no first-place votes, in the coaches poll. No. 3 Stanford was tabbed as the conference favorite, garnering 63 points and seven of nine possible first-place votes. No. 13 Utah and No. 7 Washington were selected to finish third and fourth. Each school received one first-place vote.
Last season, the Bruins posted a 21-3 record in Pac-12 play to win their 17th regular-season conference title and 12th as a member of the Pac-12. UCLA won its season series versus all eight Pac-12 opponents, including sweeps over Stanford, Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Oregon State. The Bruins finished runner-up in the inaugural Pac-12 Softball Tournament in Tucson, Ariz. to champion Utah.
UCLA opens the 2024 season next week hosting Cal State Fullerton on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7 p.m. (PT) at Easton Stadium to begin the Stacy Winsberg Tournament. Purchase your single-game and group tickets here.
