Lauren Steele Named MPSF/S&R Sport Newcomer of the Week

LOS ANGELES --ย UCLA freshman goalkeeper Lauren Steeleย (Old Greenwich, Conn./Orange Lutheranย HS) has been named the MPSF/S&R Sport Newcomer of the Weekย as announced by the league office today.
Steele collected 12 saves, while she and the Bruin defense allowed another season-low to their opponent of five goals, in a 7-5 regular season-ending win at No. 4 USC (Apr. 20). She also picked up one steal against the Trojans. UCLA finished off its first undefeated regular season since 2008 at 21-0.
