Addisen Fisher Named Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year

UCLA softball incoming freshman Addisen Fisher was named the 2024 Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year Wednesday morning. Fisher is a three-time winner of the Gatorade Oregon Softball Player of the Year award (2021, 2023 and 2024).
Fisher is the seventh student-athlete in UCLA softball history to win the prestigious Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year Award, joining the likes of Megan Faraimo (2018), Bubba Nickles (2016), Rachel Garcia (2015), Paige McDuffee (2011), Anjelica Selden (2004) and Amanda Freed (1998).
The Bend High School (Bend, Ore.) senior is heralded as the top-ranked player in the 2024 recruiting class by Softball America, Extra Innings Softball and Perfect Game Softball. Fisher, a two-way star as a right-handed pitcher and outfielder, is a four-time Class 5A All-State First Team honoree.
Fisher is coming off an extremely successful 2024 season after leading the Bend High School Lava Bears (23-6) to the Class 5A state title. Fisher, standing at 5-foot-11, compiled a 20-2 record in the circle with a 0.36 earned run average, 10 shutouts, five no-hitters and four perfect games. She struck out 261 batters and walked just 18 in 134.2 innings, averaging 1.9 Ks per inning. Opposing hitters batted .092 against her and her FIP was .198. At the plate, Fisher hit for a .667 batting average with 17 home runs to go with 40 runs batted in, 54 runs scored and 18 steals in as many attempts.
Fisher led the Lava Bears to the Class 5A state semifinals in her junior and sophomore seasons in 2023 and 2022. She completed her high school prep career with a 66-3 record, 861 strikeouts, 24 no-hitters and 11 perfect games.
Fisher plays travel ball for the Northwest Bullets with fellow UCLA signee and battery mate Sofia Mujica (San Diego, Calif./Granite Hills HS). Fisher is the first UCLA signee out of the state of Oregon.
