Ten UCLA Gymnasts Receive Scholastic All-America Honors
August 14, 2024 | Gymnastics
A total of 10 UCLA gymnasts have earned Scholastic All-America honors from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) for 2024. The WCGA Scholastic All-America team acknowledges gymnasts who carry a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average or a 3.5 grade point average for the academic year.
The Bruins honorees are Ciena Alipio, Maddie Anyimi, Mia Erdoes, Chloe Lashbrooke, Emily Lee, Emma Malabuyo, Katie McNamara, Brooklyn Moors, Katelyn Rosen and Sara Ulias.
McNamara, who graduated in the spring with a degree in Labor Studies, earned her fourth career Scholastic All-America honor after posting a 4.0 gpa for the school year. Rising seniors Erdoes (mathematics and economics), Lee (physiological science), Malabuyo (communication) and Moors (sociology) earned their third-straight awards.
Rising junior Anyimi (applied mathematics) and graduated senior Ulias (molecular, cellular and development biology) received their second career awards. Graduate student Chloe Lashbrooke (marketing), rising junior Ciena Alipio (psychology) and rising sophomore Katelyn Rosen (undeclared) became first-time honorees.
The 10 honorees are tied for the second-largest by a UCLA team in a single season, matching the 10 earned in 2022 and ranking second only to the 2003 squad that had 11 Scholastic All-Americans.
