Women’s Basketball Completes 2024-25 Schedule with Coretta Scott King Classic

LOS ANGELES – UCLA Women's Basketball will face Baylor University at the inaugural Coretta Scott King Classic on Jan. 20, 2025.
The game will take place on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, and be played in Newark, N.J., at the Prudential Center. UCLA-Baylor is part of a two-game doubleheader, with the University of Maryland and the University of Texas facing off in the other matchup of the day. The games will be broadcast nationally on FOX, taking place at 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM ET. Game assignments have not yet been released.
"To be a part of excellent competition against Baylor and having national exposure is always special," said the Michael Price Family UCLA Women's Head Basketball Coach Cori Close. "When you can couple it with such an amazing, important cause and recognition in the Coretta Scott King Classic – acknowledging the great work of the King family – that's really unique. It's really an honor to be a part of it, and I love the vision that has been executed here. We're lucky to be participating in such a great event!"
The January matchup will be the 11th meeting between the teams, with Baylor holding a 7-3 advantage in the all-time series between the programs. UCLA claimed victory in the most recent battle between the Bruins and Bears, winning 82-68 on Nov. 18, 2017, in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom.

The Coretta Scott King Classic was formed to honor the legacy of Mrs. King and celebrate female empowerment in sports. This is the first time the names of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King have been licensed for a sporting event. The Coretta Scott King Classic joint venture partners have partnered with The King Center, founded by Coretta Scott King and currently led by their daughter Dr. Bernice A. King, to launch this event.
