PALOS VERDES, Calif. – The UCLA women's golf team shot a +9, 293 in the final round on Tuesday to tie for 11th (+29, 881) out of 16 teams at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
Senior Caroline Canales was the Bruins' top finisher, tying for 21st at 4-over with round scores of 72-72-73. Canales birdied twice in her final round.
USC claimed the team title with a five-stroke victory at -9, 843. Ohio State's Kary Hollenbaugh earned medalist honors with a score of -10, 203 (68-68-67).
Senior Natalie Vo shot the lowest round among UCLA's starters in round three with an even-par 71. Vo birdied four holes to climb 14 spots on the leaderboard on the final day, tying for 48th at 9-over for the tournament.
Meghan Royal tied for 45th at +8, 221 (73-73-75). Jennifer Seo placed T-59th at 11-over (74-76-74).
Freshman Maye Huang tied for 64th at +13 (72-77-77) in her first collegiate tournament.

The Bruins shot a +14, 298 in round two at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club on Monday, moving into 10th place (+20) in the 16-team field.
Canales shot the Bruins' best counting score on day two with a +1, 72. Canales, who started her round on the back nine, birdied twice on the par-4 13th and par-5 16th. She heads into tomorrow's final round in the top 20 in a tie for 18th at 2-over.
Tuesday's final round will begin in a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. (PT) on holes 9-13. Fans can follow along with this live scoring link. Spectators are welcome at Palos Verdes Country Club.

Seo recorded a +5, 76 on Monday to move to +8 and in a tie for 57th for the tournament. Huang rounded out UCLA's counting scores on day two with a +6, 77. Huang, making her collegiate debut, is +7, T-46th through 36 holes.
Freshman Angela Liu, competing as an individual, shot UCLA's first under par round of the tournament and the first of her collegiate career with a -1, 70 in round two.
