SPRINGIELD, Mass. – UCLA point guard Kiki Rice has been named one of five finalists for the 2025 Nancy Lieberman Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame and Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced Monday.
The junior from Bethesda, Md., is averaging a team-leading 4.4 assists per game while scoring 13.0 points per game. Rice is shooting 50.4 percent from the floor this season and 86.6 percent from the free throw line. She has 115 assists on the year, which marks the third-consecutive season in which she's surpassed 100 assists.
Rice had 10 assists and only one turnover against Rutgers on Jan. 23; she has a pair of double-doubles on the year. Her 2.30 A/TO ratio has her second in the new league and ranks 32nd in the NCAA. She's led the Bruins in assists in 12 of her 26 appearances this season.
Now in its 26th year, the Nancy Lieberman Award recognizes the top point guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. To be considered for this prestigious award, candidates must exhibit the floor leadership, playmaking, and ball-handling skills of Class of 1996 Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman.
