Nakfoor, who hails from Carlsbad, Calif., led the Bruins to a 2-0 win at Portland on Sept. 4 before coming back home to record a 2-0 victory over No. 1 Stanford on Sept. 7. In the Portland victory, Nakfoor made two saves on three shots. Against Stanford, she recorded nine saves on 21 shots against the Cardinal, the most saves by a Bruin goalkeeper since Lauren Brzykcy also had nine against Duke in 2022. Nakfoor became the first goalkeeper this season to record a shutout against Stanford, which entered the game as the nation's top scoring offense. She now has three solo and one shared shutout this season and lowered her goals against average to 0.36.
This is Nakfoor's first career awards from the Big Ten and Top Drawer Soccer and UCLA's second-ever Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week award.
UCLA will open Big Ten Conference play on Saturday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. against Oregon at Wallis Annenberg Stadium.
