Bruins Fall at No. 16 Michigan, 3-0

October 17, 2025 | Men's Soccer

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The UCLA men's soccer program fell 3-0 to No. 16 Michigan on Friday night at the U-M Soccer Stadium on the campus of the University of Michigan.

Goalkeeper Kevin Box made two saves in the loss, while Konstantinos Georgallides had two shots to pace the Bruins (3-6-3, 3-3-1 Big Ten) offensively. Michigan's (8-2-3, 4-2-1 Big Ten) Michael Rameriz tallied two goals in the win.

Michigan kicked off the scoring in the 22nd minute, when Ramirez took a shot from just outside the box. He curled a shot towards the back post, which then took a deflection off of Schinieder Mimy and went in to the back of the net, and the Wolverines led 1-0.

The Bruins controlled the ball after giving up the opening goal, and almost evened the score in the 24th minute. Off a corner, Ander Marticorena had his header saved by a diving Isaiah Goldson in goal for Michigan, keeping the Wolverines in front 1-0.

Michigan then added a second goal with six minutes to go in the half. Ramirez scored his brace off a cross across the box from Dylan Davis, pushing the Wolverines' lead to 2-0.

As for the second half, Sergi Solans Ormo had a great chance on the breakaway to bring the Bruins back. Marticorena played Solans Ormo through on goal before Goldson came up with another huge save one-on-one to keep the Bruins off the board.

Michigan then added a third goal in the 72nd minute when Quinn Rodgers converted a penalty kick to put the Wolverines up 3-0.

Neither team would score in the remaining 18 minutes of action and the Wolverines earned the 3-0 win on Friday night.

Up Next: UCLA returns to action on Monday, October 20, when the Bruins play at Michigan State. Kickoff is set for 5 pm PT and the game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
