Sienna Betts Out for Season Opener

LOS ANGELES โ Freshman Sienna Betts will miss UCLA's season opener against San Diego State on Monday, the Michael Price Family UCLA Women's Head Basketball Coach Cori Close announced Saturday.

Betts, the number-two ranked recruit in theย 2025 HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankingsย according to espnW, sustained a lower left leg injury during a closed scrimmage against UC Riverside in mid-October.

"Sienna is going to be a no-go for our opener," said Close. "She's coming along great, she's doing a great job, but we're going to rule her out for Monday. We're excited to get her back and get her in the mix."

Close mentioned in her Oct. 29 media availability that Betts is expected to return this season; the freshman power forward's status will remain day-to-day following Monday's game against San Diego State.
