April 02, 2025 | Women's Basketball, Bruin Athletics
Several Los Angeles venues will light up blue and gold on Thursday, April 3 to celebrate the Final Four run of the UCLA women's basketball team.
Athletic venues participating are Rose Bowl Stadium, Dodger Stadium and Dignity Health Sports Park. Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier will have its Pacific Wheel Ferris wheel lit in the evening, with a live feed available at pacpark.com/live to watch the lighting program. With support from the Mayor's Office and Councilwoman Yaroslavsky's Office, City Hall and U.S. Bank Tower in Downtown LA will illuminate blue and gold.
The Bruins, led by Naismith Women's College Coach of the Year Cori Close, are the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, holding a 34-2 record. The Big Ten Tournament champions booked their ticket to the Final Four with wins over No. 16 seed Southern University, No. 8 seed Richmond, No. 5 seed Ole Miss and No. 3 seed LSU. UCLA will face No. 2 seed UConn in the semifinal on Friday, April 4 at 6:30 p.m. PT in Tampa. The game will be televised live on ESPN, and UCLA will host a free watch party for fans inside Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom Financial. To RSVP for the watch party, click here.
This is UCLA's first trip to the NCAA Women's Final Four. The Bruins have two previous semifinal appearances in the AIAW Championships in 1978 and 1979 and won the AIAW National Championship in 1978.
UCLA has won 124 NCAA Championships, its most recent coming in December when the men's water polo team captured its 13th NCAA title. UCLA ranks No. 2 in the nation in NCAA team championships.
