Woolery Named Top 10 Finalist for USA Softball Player of the Year

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Junior infielder Jordan Woolery on the No. 9-ranked UCLA softball team was named a USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year Top 10 Finalist, the organization announced Wednesday.
This marks the third straight season the Bruins (49-10, 17-5 Big Ten) have a had a student-athlete make the Top 10.
The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award, which is considered the most prestigious honor in Division I women's collegiate softball, recognizes the outstanding athletic achievement by Division I female players across the country.
Woolery has posted elite offensive numbers this season with a .416 batting average (72-for-173), 20 home runs, .890 slugging percentage and a team-high 75 runs batted in and 154 total bases (all career highs). Woolery's 75 RBIs rank second most in UCLA single-season history. Additionally, she is just the 11th Bruin in program history to have a 20-homer campaign.
The Top 10 Finalists will be narrowed to the Top 3 set to be released on May 19. The USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year will be announced prior to the start of the Women's College World Series.
Two Bruins have taken home the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award a total of three times. Rachel Garcia (2017-21) was honored in back-to-back seasons in 2018 and 2019 and Stacey Nuveman (1997, 1999, 2001-02) won UCLA's first award in 2002.
