UCLA Men's Golf Adds Transfer Logan Kim

July 14, 2025 | Men's Golf

LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's golf program has received a signed grant-in-aid agreement (GIA) from rising sophomore Logan Kim, as announced on Monday by Bruins' head coach Armen Kirakossian.

Kim, from nearby Altadena, Calif., will compete as a sophomore for UCLA in 2025-26 after having completed his freshman season at Stanford University. Kim took part in 10 competitions for Stanford last season, recording a scoring average of 72.7. He finished in a tie for 24th place at the NCAA Amherst Regional in Virginia last May (+2, 212).

"Logan is a guy who we had recruited heavily the first time around in the 2024 class," Kirakossian said. "We are very excited to have the opportunity to coach him. He has a very natural golf swing and he's an impressive ball striker. He has elite-level skills, he's a person who we think very highly of, and he can really make an impact on the golf course. We are excited to see what he can bring to our squad this year. He has shown that he can play at the highest level. Logan has been a very accomplished junior golfer, with a huge win at the 2024 Junior World Championship in Torrey Pines, so he has proven that he can play bigtime golf courses. We are really looking forward to seeing how we can help him improve and get the most out of his game and help him to reach his full potential."

Kim registered his best finish of the 2024-25 collegiate season with a 13th (tied) place finish at The Prestige Individual in Indio, Calif. He shot 8-over 224 at the 54-hole tournament, which took place at The Golf Club at Terra Lago.

The No. 4-ranked recruit in California, according to Junior Golf Scoreboard, Kim finished his high school career with multiple top-10 finishes on the AJGA Tour. He finished in first place the 2024 Junior World Championship, carding 3-under 213 over 54 hole at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, Calif.
