Lee Breezes Past Competition at Windy City Classic, Captures Medalist Honors

GOLF, Ill. – Sophomore Jenny Lee on the UCLA women's golf team secured individual medalist honors in just her second tournament as a Bruin and for the first time in her collegiate career at the Windy City Collegiate Classic hosted at Glen View Club on Tuesday. Lee shot under par in all three rounds (70-68-70) to finish -8 for the tournament and one stroke ahead of Iowa State's Pimkwan Chookaew.
 
As a team, the Bruins tied for fourth in the 11-team field at -5, 859. UCLA shot back-to-back under par rounds of 285-286 to close the tournament. No. 9 Northwestern and No. 21 Duke clinched a share of the team title, both shooting -13, 851.
 
The only blemish on Lee's round three scorecard was a bogey on the par-3 second hole. She went bogey-free on the remaining 16 with three birdies. Lee was exceptional on the back nine for the entire tournament, shooting -9 with one eagle, seven birdies and no bogeys.
 
Lee entered the Windy City Collegiate Classic with no top-20 finishes and a low 18-hole score of 70 during her freshman season at Baylor in 2024-25.
 
Sophomore Maye Huang recorded the third top-20 result of her career in the 63-player field with a T-14th placement at -2 (73-69-72). Huang's -3, 69 in her second round on Monday marked a new low 18-hole score.

Women's Golf Currently Top 5 at the Windy City Collegiate Classic

GOLF, Ill. – The UCLA women's golf team finished at -3, 573 (288-285) through the first two rounds of the Windy City Collegiate Classic at Glen View Club on Monday. The Bruins currently sit in fifth place in the 11-team field.
 
Tournament host and No. 9-ranked Northwestern owns a two-shot lead at -13 over SMU.
 
Sophomore transfer Jenny Lee holds a share of the lead on the individual leaderboard at -6 (70-68) after making eight birdies on the day. Lee was also one of the six players in the entire field to have an eagle, coming in her second round on the 505-yard par-5 15th, contributing to her career-low round of 68 on her second 18 of the day.
 
Sophomore Maye Huang (-2; 73-69) was the other Bruin to finish under par through 36 holes, carding three birdies in her final five holes of the day to finish -3 in round two. Huang is currently tied 12th of all individuals in the field.
 
Sophomore Angela Liu and senior Megan Royal round out the scoring field for the Bruins. Royal shot a steady, even-par 72 in the afternoon to remain at +2 for the day. Aside from a +4 stretch in her second round between the 15th and 17th holes, Liu was even-par for the day.
