Redshirt senior long snapper Salem Abdul-Wahab of the UCLA football team was named to the Patrick Mannelly Award Watch List on Monday. The award is presented annually to the nation's top long snapper.

Abdul-Wahab, a Fontana, Calif., native, was one of 20 student-athletes across the country named to this year's watch list. This marks the eighth year of the award.

Created in 2019, the Patrick Mannelly Award benefits Bernie's Book Bank, a nonprofit organization based in Lake Bluff, Ill. Ten semifinalists will be announced Nov. 16, followed by the three finalists on Nov. 30. The 2026 Patrick Mannelly Award winner will be announced during a live ceremony in Lake Bluff on Dec. 12.

Last season, Abdul-Wahab handled long-snapping duties on all of UCLA's field goals, punts and extra-point attempts. Kicker Mateen Bhaghani has been on the receiving end of Abdul-Wahab's snaps the past two seasons, converting 36 of 44 field-goal attempts (81.8%) and all 42 extra-point attempts during that span.
