LOS ANGELES – The UCLA men's and women's soccer programs have earned a College Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches for the ninth consecutive year. UCLA was one of 175 schools, across all NCAA divisions, to have both their men's and women's teams recognized for the 2025-26 season.

The Bruin women have received this award in 15 consecutive seasons. The team posted a collective 3.29 GPA in 2025-26. This was also the sixth year in a row that the women have recorded a team GPA of 3.25 or higher. A total of 10 players were named to the Academic All-Big Ten team in the fall, with Kara Croone receiving Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors. 

The UCLA men earned their ninth consecutive award after posting a 3.25 GPA in 2025-26. The Bruins have qualified for the award every year under eighth-year head coach Ryan Jorden. A total of eight UCLA men's soccer players were named to the Academic All-Big Ten team, and Kevin Box earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honors.

The United Soccer Coaches awards are designed to annually celebrate the academic achievements of teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year. To qualify for the award, teams must post a team grade point average of 3.00 or higher.

The 2026 season officially begins for the Bruin women on Wednesday, Aug. 12 against BYU at 7pm. The UCLA men open on the road on Thursday, Aug. 20 at Virginia.
