Four Bruins Earn CSC Academic All-District® Football Honors
January 06, 2026 | Football
Four Bruins were honored Tuesday by College Sports Communicators (CSC), which announced its 2025 Academic All-District® Football teams. Anthony Frias II, Hudson Habermehl, Jack Pedersen, and Sam Yoon make up UCLA's representatives on the list.
Pedersen and Yoon repeated as Academic All-District honorees after appearing on the list in 2024, while Habermehl was recognized following the 2023 campaign. It marked the first-career Academic All-District honor for Frias.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Football teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and the NAIA. Student-athletes must possess a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.50 while competing in 90% of the institution's games played or starting in at least 66% of the institution's games.
Frias, a redshirt senior, appeared in all 12 of UCLA's games and led the team with a 7.6 yards per rush average. He had a breakout performance in UCLA's win over Maryland on Oct. 18, rushing for 97 yards on just four carries en route to UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week honors. In that contest, he had a 55-yard rushing touchdown, which stood up as UCLA's longest run of the year, and set up a game-winning field foal drive with a 35-yard gain late in the fourth quarter.Â
Habermehl, a seventh-year tight end, returned to start 11 games for UCLA this season after missing all of 2024 due to injury. He made 20 catches over the course of the year and went without committing a penalty all season.Â
Pedersen, a redshirt junior tight end, appeared in 11 games and drew a start in the season-opener against Utah. He reeled in a catch in seven games, including a season-best 26-yard outing against the Utes on Aug. 30.
Yoon, a redshirt junior center, started all 12 games for UCLA in 2025. He was one of just two Bruins on the offensive side of the ball to start every game. Dating back to 2024, Yoon has started 20 consecutive games for UCLA, the longest active streak on the team among non-specialists.
First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 27, 2026.
