Quan Deemed Men's Tennis Player to Watch in Big Ten

ROSEMONT, Ill. โ UCLA's Rudy Quan was named Friday to the 2026 Big Ten Men's Tennis Players to Watch list. He is one of 14 members spread across the member universities.
It has already been a standout sophomore season for Quan, who played in both NCAA individual tournaments. He went 5-1 in singles play during the fall while posting a 5-2 doubles record alongside Aadarsh Tripathi. Quan beat a pair of ranked singles opponents in No. 118 Jelani Sarr of Arizona State and No. 70 Tripathi, with the latter putting Quan into the ITA Southwest Regional Championships final to qualify for NCAAs. Quan/Tripathi went on an unbeaten run at the ITA West Sectional Championships to earn a doubles spot.
Quan was voted Big Ten Freshman of the Year and ITA Southwest Regional Rookie of the Year after logging a 13-8 singles mark that included eight wins against nationally-ranked foes. He spent most of the campaign atop the Bruins' singles lineup, finishing the year ranked 26th in the ITA singles rankings and climbing as high as No. 20. Quan was also an All-Big Ten First Team honoree and a Big Ten All-Freshman Team pick. He turned in his first career top-10 singles win when he defeated No. 9 Ozan Baris of Michigan State during dual-match play. Quan went 9-8 in doubles contests, helping to clinch three initial points.
