UCLA Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Collegiate Women Sports Awards

Kicking off the celebration will be a Bruin Bash, hosted by UCLA Alumni Affairs and UCLA Athletics in the Athletic Hall of Fame in the J.D. Morgan Center from 1-3pm. The pre-gymnastics meet celebration will include heavy appetizers and a fireside chat with UCLA Track and Field legend Jackie Joyner-Kersee, facilitated by Olympic gold medalist and UCLA Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Joanna Hayes. At the UCLA vs. Michigan gymnastics meet, which begins at 4pm in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom Financial, the CWSA winners will be recognized on the floor after the first rotation. Tickets to the gymnastics meet can be purchased here.
The Collegiate Women Sports Awards, which was established in 1976 by former UCLA Director of Women's Athletics Judith Holland, annually recognizes the accomplishments of female athletes in NCAA-member colleges with a variety of prestigious awards, including the Honda Sports Award given to the top female athlete in 12 respective sports and the Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year, given to the top overall female athlete.
