UCLA Stays Unbeaten in Big Ten with 197.550-197.275 win at Minnesota
February 07, 2026 | Gymnastics
Minneapolis, Minn. - No. 5 UCLA maintained its unbeaten record in Big Ten Conference play with a 197.550-197.275 win at No. 17 Minnesota. Jordan Chiles scored her third consecutive perfect 10 on floor exercise and her fourth 10 overall this season on her way to an all-around victory.
Chiles paid tribute to Minnesota icon Prince by bringing back her 2025 floor routine set to a medley of his music. She scored two perfect 10s on that routine last year and added a third Saturday to bring her career total of 10s to 15, third-most in UCLA history.ย
The Bruins (8-2 overall, 4-0 in the Big Ten) trailed after the first rotation after Minnesota scored a season-high 49.425 on vault. UCLA scored 49.300, led by Ashlee Sullivan's meet-winning 9.925 and Chiles' 9.900.ย
UCLA took a one-tenth lead following the second rotation after scoring 49.400 on vault compared to Minnesota's 49.175 on bars. Tiana Sumanasekera led off with a stuck Yurchenko full for a career-high 9.900, and the Bruins closed the rotation with four-straight 9.875s, including a career-best mark by Riley Jenkins and a season-high-tying score by Katelyn Rosen.ย
The Bruins extended their lead in the third rotation with a 49.425 on floor that was buoyed by Chiles' 10, Sullivan's second-consecutive 9.950 and Rosen's leadoff 9.900. The Gophers (4-3, 2-2) kept within two-tenths of a point by scoring 49.325 on beam.ย
But UCLA's beam squad sealed the win with a 49.425 as Minnesota scored 49.350 on floor. Rosen and Sydney Barros scored back-to-back 9.900s to start the rotation - Barros' score a new career-high. Sumanasekera and Chiles added 9.850s, and Ciena Alipio closed with a 9.925 to tie for first for the fourth-straight meet.
UCLA returns home to host No. 8 Michigan on Valentine's Day at 4pm PT. General admission tickets are on sale at uclabruins.com/tickets.
