Stanford, Calif. - No. 5 UCLA defeated No. 10 Stanford, 197.775-197.425 to extend its winning streak to eight meets. Senior Jordan Chiles earned her first perfect 10 of the season on uneven bars and won the all-around with a score of 39.700.
The Bruins (14-2) got off to a hot start with a season-high 49.575 on uneven bars. Along with Chiles' 10, UCLA recorded four scores of 9.900 or higher, including a career-best 9.950 from Nola Matthews and 9.900s from Mika Webster-Longin and Ashlee Sullivan. UCLA's 9.900 scores extended to the exhibition, spot, with senior Madisyn Anyimi hitting for a 9.900. Stanford scored 49.025 on vault to fall behind by 0.450.
The Cardinal one-upped UCLA on bars with a 49.600. The Bruins maintained their lead by 0.200 after scoring 49.250 on vault. Chiles led the team with a 9.925 on her Lopez, and sophomore Riley Jenkins hit a career-best 9.900 with a stuck Yurchenko 1.5. Anyimi also stuck her vault and scored 9.800.ย
UCLA had a strong third rotation on floor, scoring 49.475 to Stanford's 49.400 on beam to extend its lead. Webster-Longin and Sumanasekera led the team with 9.925s, and Sullivan and Chiles each scored 9.900.ย
The Bruins secured the win with another 49.475, with Sumanasekera and Ciena Alipio each scoring meet-winning 9.950s on beam.ย
Chiles earned her eighth-consecutive all-around win. Webster-Longin finished third in her season all-around debut, scoring a career-high 39.425.
The Bruins will wrap up the dual meet schedule on Saturday, March 14 with a home meet against Utah at 7:30pm. The meet is the final home meet for UCLA seniors Alipio, Anyimi, Chiles and Carissa Clay. Tickets are on sale at uclabruins.com/tickets.
