Alden, Mathews Selected MPSF Pair of Week

In the Championship match against USC, Alden and Mathews beat Ashley Pater and Sarah Wood 21-17, 21-18 to even the match at 1-1. The Bruins would go on to win in a thriller, 3-2, to take the title. The pair also earned UCLA's first point in a 5-0 sweep over Arizona State, beating Ava Kirunchyk/Olivia McElroy 21-10, 21-16. Additionally, they beat California's Grace Hong and Marilu Pally 21-19, 21-14 to open the tournament. With the three wins, Alden/Mathews improve their season record to 18-4. Alden's 25 victories are tied for second-most on the team. Mathews is one of seven Bruins with 20 or more wins on the year.
This is the first MPSF/Molten Pair of the Week award for Alden and Matthews and the second by a Bruin duo this year, as Sally Perez and Maggie Boyd also won the award on March 3. Alden has won one previous conference pair of the week in 2024 with Natalie Myszkowski.
