April 21, 2026 | Softball
ROSEMONT, Ill. โ Senior infielder Jordan Woolery on the No. 6 UCLA softball team was awarded National Player of the Week honors by media outlets Softball America and D1Softball on Tuesday.
ย
Woolery had a record-setting week, going 11-for-15 with seven home runs, including three separate two-homer games, and 16 RBIs across UCLA's four wins over California Baptist, Long Beach State and California. Woolery posted a pair of two-homer performances on the same day in UCLA's double-header sweep of California on Saturday, finishing 6-for-7 with four home runs, 10 RBIs and five runs scored.
ย
Woolery's first blast in Game 1 against the Golden Bears was a three-run shot that broke UCLA's single-season program record of 91 RBIs, previously set by Nuveman in 1999. Her second homer of the day marked UCLA's 148th of the season, breaking the Big Ten single-season team home run record set by Ohio State last year. Woolery finished Game 1 4-for-4 with a career-high seven RBIs, which is tied for third-most in a single game in UCLA history. It was also the fourth three-hit game of her career.
ย
Woolery's two home runs in Game 2 against Cal pushed her season total to 30. She and Megan Grant became the first teammates in NCAA Division I history to each hit 30 or more home runs in the same season. Woolery's 10-RBI day on Saturday brought her to the century mark for the season, making her the fifth player in NCAA Division I history to record a 100-RBI campaign.
ย
Woolery opened the week by going 3-for-3 with her first of three two-homer performances against California Baptist on Tuesday. The next day, she went 2-for-5 with a grand slam at Long Beach State, helping the Bruins tie the program single-game record for runs scored with 27.
ย
The weekend ended in ceremonious fashion with Woolery, Grant and Taylor Tinsley each being awarded a golden ticket by the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) after the conclusion of UCLA's double-header versus California.
ย
Woolery and the Bruins return to action this weekend with a three-game series at No. 23 Washington from April 24-26. Games 1 (7 p.m. PT) and 2 (3 p.m. PT) of the series will be televised on Big Ten Network.
