UCLA To Host Women’s Basketball Championship Celebration at Pauley Pavilion Wednesday
April 06, 2026 | Women's Basketball
UCLA Athletics invites all Bruin fans to Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom Financial this Wednesday, April 8, to celebrate the UCLA women's basketball program's first NCAA Championship.
Admission is free for fans who RSVP at this LINK HERE for Wednesday's event. The Celebration will begin at 6 p.m. (PT) with doors to Pauley Pavilion opening to the public at 5 p.m.
Fans will enter at the main entrance on the North side of Pauley Pavilion and will be seated in the North sections (Sections 122-108 will be open). Fans arriving early will receive an exclusive championship poster. There will also be an opportunity for fans to take photos with the team's NCAA Regional and Championship trophies as well as sign the large NCAA Tournament bracket the team slapped with a sticker after each victory.
No. 1-seed UCLA defeated No. 1-seed South Carolina, 79-51, to win its first-ever NCAA Championship on Sunday, April 5 before a capacity crowd at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Playing at the NCAA Final Four for the second consecutive season, the Bruins (37-1) never trailed in Sunday's championship showdown against South Carolina (36-4).
Under the leadership of Cori Close, in her 15th season as The Michael Price Family UCLA Women's Head Basketball Coach, UCLA earned its second women's basketball national title. The Bruins won the 1978 national title in the AIAW (Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women), before the NCAA took over the women's basketball championship in 1982.
