Jordan Woolery Headlines All-Big Ten Picks as Player of the Year
May 08, 2026 | Softball
ROSEMONT, Ill. โ UCLA softball senior infielder Jordan Woolery has been named the 2026 Big Ten Player of the Year, as announced by the conference office on Friday.
ย
Senior Jordan Woolery earned UCLA's 20th conference Player of the Year award and the program's first since Maya Brady won the honor in 2024 as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. Woolery joins Stacey Nuveman and Rachel Garcia as the third Bruin in program history to be named both a conference Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year.
ย
UCLA led the conference with five All-Big Ten First Team selections. Joining Woolery on the first team were freshman Bri Alejandre, redshirt freshman Aleena Garcia, senior Megan Grant and sophomore Rylee Slimp. Grant, Slimp and Woolery were unanimous selections.
ย
Three Bruins earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors: sophomore Kaniya Bragg, redshirt junior Alexis Ramirez and senior Taylor Tinsley.
ย
UCLA also paced the conference with three Big Ten All-Freshman Team selections: Alejandre, Garcia and Jolyna Lamar.
ย
Garcia and Ramirez were named to the league's nine-player All-Defensive Team.
ย
The Big Ten recognizes 19 players on both the first and second teams, along with 11 players on the all-freshman team. Woolery and Grant became the 10th and 11th players in program history to earn first-team all-conference honors in all four seasons of their careers. Additionally, Tinsley received all-conference recognition for the third time in her career.
ย
About UCLA's All-Conference Picks
Jordan Woolery

Her 106 RBIs lead the nation, rank third in NCAA history and set a new UCLA single-season record.
ย
Megan Grant
Grant leads the nation with a 1.336 slugging percentage and .648 on-base percentage and is tied for the national lead with 36 home runs. She and Woolery are the first teammates in NCAA history to each hit 30 or more home runs in the same season. Grant is also batting .478 with 76 RBIs in her final campaign. Her 36 home runs set a new UCLA single-season record. She is one shy of tying the NCAA single-season record of 37.

ย
Taylor Tinsley
Tinsley ranks second nationally with 27 victories and leads the Big Ten with 19 complete games. She has served as UCLA's workhorse in the circle, throwing 175.2 of the team's 318.1 innings this season. Entering the Big Ten Tournament semifinals, Tinsley owns a 27-5 record with a 2.79 ERA and 149 strikeouts.
ย
Kaniya Bragg
Bragg, who has played three different infield positions over the last two seasons, has started all 52 games at second base this year. She is one of eight Bruins with double-digit home runs, totaling 15 on the season, and one of four UCLA players batting above .400.
ย
