Women's Swimming & Diving Defeats UCSD, 215-79

LOS ANGELES - The UCLA Bruins won their second meet of the season, handing the UC San Diego Tritons a 215-79 defeat. The usual suspects did well for the Bruins, with All- Americans Beth Goodwin recording two first-place finishes, Keiko Price finishing first in the 50 free and Amanda Hall finishing first in the 200 back.
The Bruin freshmen had another outstanding outing, with five rookies recording first-place finishes. Breastroker Lyndee Hovsepian finished first in the 100 and 200 breast while Erin Thomas claimed first in the 1000 free for the second straight meet. Nicole Beck, Hilary Peterson and Samantha Schacher all claimed first-place finishes on the day.
UCLA's divers had a great day as well, sweeping both the one-meter and three- meter. Sophomore Anne Baghramian led the Bruin divers, finishing first on both boards.
UCSD had a strong showing in the 200 breast and claimed first place in the 200 free relay.
UCLA will next host No. 23 Arizona State and UC Santa Barbara in the first double-dual action of the season, on Friday, November 13 at 1 pm at the Men's Gym Pool. Diving will only be competing against ASU. The Bruins will host No. 3 Arizona on Saturday, November 14 at 12 pm.
