Men's Golf Finishes Eighth In Pac-10 Championships

TEMPE, Ariz. - UCLA placed eighth and freshman Travis Johnson tied for fifth place individually at the Pac-10 Championships Wednesday at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, AZ.
The Bruins posted a team score of 374 Wednesday to finish with a 72-hole total of 1,465, 15-over par. Host Arizona State won the title with a four-round total of 1,384, a conference record of 56-under par. Oregon State captured second place at 1,421, 19-under par, followed by California at 1,428.
UCLA freshman Travis Johnson, who trailed eventual conference champion Paul Casey by six shots entering the final round, posted a 75 on Wednesday and tied for fifth place at 279, nine-under par. Casey set a 72-hole league record by winning with a score of 265, 23-under par. Oregon State's Tim Mikkelson placed second at 275, 13-under par.
UCLA senior Brandon DiTullio tied for 17th at 286, two-under par and teammate Jason Semelsberger tied for 25th at 289. Junior Parker McLachlin tied for 36th at 293, followed by freshman J.T. Kohut, who placed 57th at 315. Junior Ross Fulgentis placed 59th at 319.
