2000-2001 Men's Basketball Schedule Released

Home games against North Carolina and Villanova, road games at Purdue and DePaul, participation in the Coaches Versus Cancer Tournament and John Wooden Classic and 18 Pac-10 contests highlight the 2000-2001 UCLA men's basketball schedule.

The Bruins will play 15 home regular-season games plus two exhibition contests in Pauley Pavilion. In addition to North Carolina, which played in the 2000 Final Four, and Big East power Villanova, the non-conference home schedule includes Hawaii and three southern California universities -- UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Northridge and UC Irvine.

In addition the road contests at Purdue and DePaul, both of whom played in the NCAA Tournament, the Bruins will open the season on Nov. 9 at Madison Square Garden in the Coaches Versus Cancer Tournament. The other three schools competing are Kansas, Kentucky and St. Johns. In addition, the Bruins will face Georgia Tech in the John Wooden Classic, to be held in the Arrowhead Pond on Dec. 2.

Highlights of the Pac-10 schedule include visits by Arizona on Feb. 15 and Stanford on March 3.
