Nineteen-ninety-nine NCAA men's soccer semifinalist UCLA earned the pre-season No. 3 ranking by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The UCLA women's soccer team, which advanced to the third round of the 1999 NCAA Championships, earned a No. 14 pre-season ranking.
