UCLA's Rojer Falls At NCAA Men's Tennis Championships

Athens, GA --UCLA's final opportunity to earn a national title came to an end this afternoon after sophomore Jean-Julien Rojer, who was the final Bruin competing in the individual portion of the NCAA championships, fell in the round of 16.
Rojer fell to third-seeded Matias Boeker of Georgia in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. With the setback Rojer finished the 2001 season with a 27-19 mark in singles.
As a team, the number two-seeded Bruins were upset in the quarterfinals, losing a 4-3 heartbreaker to seventh-seeded Southern Methodist. Overall the Bruins finished second in Pac-10 action and compiled a 23-3 overall record.
