Friday's W/M Hammer Throw Results for UCLA vs. USC Dual

In the hammer throw, held at West Los Angeles College on Friday, for the UCLA vs. USC dual meet, UCLA senior Christina Tolson was the women's winner and USC's Norbert Horvath won the men's event.
Tolson, from Fountain Valley, who is the Pac-10 record-holder (214-6 on 4/21), won the women's hammer with a mark of 207-3, a meet record (she set the old meet record last season, 206-2). Placing second was USC's Juliana Tudja (196-6) and third-place went to the Trojans' L'Orangeril Crawford (188-3).
Horvath, a senior from Szombathely, Hungary, took the men's hammer with a mark of 223-11. The Bruins went two-three, with junior Scott Moser placing second (198-7, personal-best) and freshman Dan Ames in third-place (179-9).
The meet is being scored traditionally (5-3-1 for individual events, 5-0 for relays). In women's scoring, UCLA takes a 5-4 lead and in men's scoring, the Trojans take an identical 5-4 advantage into tomorrow's (Saturday) meet.
The meet will conclude tomorrow (Saturday) at USC's Cromwell Field/Loker Stadium. The field events will start at 11 a.m. and the running events at 11:15 a.m. The meet will conclude at 2:30 p.m. with the running of the 4 X 400m relays.
