Bolden Named USTCA West Region T & F Coach Of The Year For Sixth Consecutive Season

UCLA's women's track & field head coach Jeanette Bolden on May 24 was named the Mondo/U. S. Track Coaches Association West Region Women's Coach of the Year. She is now eligible for selection for the Mondo/USTCA National Women's Coach of the Year, which will be voted on at the conclusion of next week's NCAA Outdoor Championships at LSU in Baton Rouge.

Bolden has received this honor six consecutive seasons and a total of seven times during her Bruin career (she's in her ninth year as the UCLA women's head coach)

Here is a list of Bolden's accomplishments during her Bruin head coaching tenure.

  • Coached UCLA to back-to-back NCAA Indoor team championships (2001 - 2000; UCLA finished second in 2002).
  • Four second-places at the NCAA Outdoor, including three of the last four years.
  • Seven-time USTCA West Region Coach of the Year, including (2002) last six consecutive seasons.
  • Eight Pac-10 titles in nine years, including (2002) last six consecutive seasons.
  • Seven-time Pac-10 Coach of the Year, including last five consecutive seasons (the 2002 honor will be announced at the end of the NCAA Outdoor).
  • Unbeaten career dual record of 68-0, including 9-0 record vs. USC.
  • Eight-time National Dual Meet Team Champion, including (2002) last seven consecutive seasons.
