Three Bruins Earn All-America Honors

Los Angeles - Bruin sophomore Marcin Matkowski earned All-America honors in both singles and doubles Friday, headlining a list of three UCLA men's tennis players to achieve All-America status.
Matkowski (Szczecin, Poland) was named a singles All-American for finishing in the top-20 of the final Omni Hotels Collegiate Rankings. He and teammate Jean-Julien Rojer (Curacao, Netherlands-Antilles) were also named All-Americans in doubles after finishing the season ranked No. 1 in the nation.
The other Bruin to earn All-America honors on Friday was sophomore Tobias Clemens (Bonn, Germany). Clemens was a singles All-American for being a top-16 seed in the NCAA Singles Championships and for finishing the season ranked No. 8 in the final rankings.
Rojer is the only two-time All-American on the squad, as he achieved the honor in 2001 as well.
