Dale Rudd Hired as Head Athletic Trainer

Dale Rudd, who has more than 25 years of experience in intercollegiate athletics, is returning to UCLA as Director of Athletic Training and Rehabilitation, it was announced today. This will be Rudd's second tenure at UCLA, having served in the same capacity from June of 1990 through the Spring of 1997.
Rudd returns to UCLA from the University of California, Berkeley, where he served as head athletic trainer for the past year. Prior to that, he was an athletic trainer and rehabilitation specialist with El Dorado Physical Therapy in El Dorado Hills, CA for a year. He also served as head athletic trainer at Stanford from 1997-2001, head athletic trainer at UCLA from 1990-97 and head athletic trainer at Pepperdine from 1988-90.
In addition, Rudd has also had management postions on athletic training staffs at Purdue (1985-88), Cal State Northridge (1982-85), UNLV (1978-82) and U.S. International (1977-78).
He currently serves on the NATA Appropriate Medical Coverage Task Force, and he is past chair of the Pac-10 Athletic Trainer Committee (1994-96) and past co-chair of the Pac-10 Student-Athlete Health Care Conference (1999).
Rudd received his bachelor's degree from Cal State Northridge and a Master's degree in exercise and sport science from Arizona. He and his wife, Stacie, have a daughter, Caitlin.
