Bruins To Send 16 Athletes To Compete At 2004 NCAA Outdoor T & F Championships

Jeanette Bolden's UCLA women's track & field team will send 16 athletes to compete in 13 events at the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, June 9-12 in Austin, TX and hosted by the University of Texas.
The Bruin women, last week rated No. 1 in the U. S. (the new Trackwire ranking will come out June 2), already this season have won the Pacific-10 and NCAA West Region championships. Under Bolden, in her 11th season as head coach, UCLA has ten, Top 10 finishes at the NCAA Outdoor, including eight Top 3 placements. The Bruins have finished second on five occasions (2002-01-99-98-95). Last year, UCLA finished eighth. Under Bolden, the Bruins have won two NCAA Indoor titles (2001-00).
Here's the list of UCLA's 2004 women competitors. All are automatic qualifiers except, UCLA's 4 X 400m relay, senior Julie Stevenson (high jump), sophomore Jackie Nguyen (pole vault) and freshman Kamaiya Warrant (shot put).
