UCLA Men's and Women's Water Polo Annual Jim Toring Memorial Golf Tournament

As a first order of business in defending their national titles, the UCLA men's and women's water polo teams will be hosting the 14th Annual Jim Toring Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, August 1, 2005 at the Mesa Verde Country Club in Costa Mesa. The yearly event, which is held in memorium of former Bruin All-American Jim Toring, directly benefits both the UCLA men's and women's water polo squads.

The fun day of golf and cameraderie, which begins at 9 a.m., includes 18 holes of golf at Mesa Verde Country Club, tournament shirts and caps, tee gifts, continental breakfast, a putting contest, driving range, BBQ lunch, long drive contest, closest-to-the-pin contest, "low gross" foursome awards, "low net" foursome awards, raffle prizes, silent auction, hole-in-one contest, cocktails and a sit-down dinner and program. Former Bruin head coach Bob Horn will serve as the event's key note speaker.
Cost for an entry into the tournament is $215 ($65 of which is tax-deductible).
There are many ways in which you can help support the tournament. Of course, golfing is the best (and most fun) way, but if you are not a golfer or cannot make it to the tournament, you can still participate.
You Can Sponsor a Tee Sign
Once you download the Registration Form, you will find a place to mark off if you'd like to sponsor a tee sign. These signs appear at each hole and are seen by every golfer who plays through the course. You can include your name, your company's name and/or logo on the sign. All such donations are 100% tax-deductible.
You Can Make a Donation to the Silent Auction or to the Prize Drawing
Former players, friends, sponsors and parents of current and former players also may donate various items to either our Silent Auction or Prize Drawing (raffle). Previous items include: "Day on the water polo bench", roundtrip airline tickets, Dodger tickets, breakfast with John Wooden and many more.
You Can Put Signs Up In Local Stores or at Your Business
Just let us know if you need signs or other advertising and we will be happy to provide them for you. The more people participating, the more successful the tournament!
