UCLA's Chris Jensen Named To Pac-10 All-Academic First Team

Walnut Creek, Calif. - UCLA senior right fielder Chris Jensen has been named to the 2006 Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic First Team, Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Thursday. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Jensen, from San Diego, Calif., was a 2005 First-Team Pac-10 All Academic selection, and a Second-Team Pac-10 All Academic selection in 2004. He has also earned 2006 CoSIDA District 8 First-Team Academic All-America honors.
Jensen has started all 53 games for the Bruins in right field, helping UCLA to a 31-22 record. At the plate, Jensen is hitting .327 (71-217) with five home runs, and a team-leading 34 RBI and 44 runs scored. Jensen owns a 3.51 GPA as a civil engineering student.
UCLA will play No. 5 Oregon State for a shot at the Pac-10 Title beginning Friday, May 26.
