UCLA Rowing Inks Four Spring Signees

LOS ANGELES - The UCLA rowing program has signed four high school student-athletes to National Letters-of-Intent, head coach Amy Fuller Kearney announced this week. These four spring signees will enroll at school in the fall of 2007, along with seven recruits who signed National Letters-of-Intent last fall.

In addition, 16 other student-athletes have signed statements of intent to register at UCLA and join the rowing program in the fall of 2007. Overall, the Bruins will welcome 27 incomers to the rowing program next season.

Rows as the coxswain for the Oakland Strokes' top eight crew...competed at the U.S. Rowing Junior Women's National Team development camp...will attend the U.S. Rowing Junior Women's National Team selection camp this summer.

Rows for the Long Beach Junior Crew...member of the Long Beach Junior Crew's top eight boat...attempting to qualify for the U.S. Rowing Youth National Championships at the regional qualifier.

Completing her first year rowing for Community Rowing Incorporated in Boston...has also competed for Winchester High School's varsity basketball and soccer teams; also ran on the cross-country team and competed on the varsity track squad...has made a rapid transition to rowing and has posted an outstanding ergometer score.
