Vaulters Head to Modesto; Small Group to Compete at Claremont Classic

The pole vaulters will head to the Modesto Relays, while a small group of 12 athletes will travel inland to the Claremont Classic on Saturday for final tune-up meets before the Pac-10 Championships. Throwers, jumpers and sprinters will compete this weekend as they try to solidify their spot on UCLA's roster for the Pac-10 Championships and improve on their season-best marks.
Heading to Claremont are - throwers Chris Burbach and Nick Robinson; sprinters Stan Griffin, Cade Lindahl, Alex Pearlstone, James Rhoades and Brandon Smith; hurdlers Kevin Craddock and Darius Reed; and jumpers Michael Johnson, Steven Taylor and Joel Tuosto.
Competing in Modesto are - Chris Bencomo, Dustin DeLeo, Mike Landers, Zack Miller, David Murphy and David Shortenhaus.
