Richards Finishes Just Outside of Scoring Position at Pac-10 Heptathlon Championships

Junior Georgea Richards entered day two of the Pac-10 Heptathlon Championships in scoring position, but finished ninth overall as she was just eight points shy of an eighth-place finish. Richards tallied a two-day score of 4,752 points in Palo Alto.
In the long jump, Richards posted a mark of 17-10.75 for 686 points (9th overall). Then, in the javelin, she threw 82-6 for 385 points (13th overall). Richards then ran 2:28.08 in the 800m (717 points) for the ninth-fastest time of the day. She had a three-event point total of 1,788 points.
The Bruin team will return to Palo Alto next Saturday and Sunday for the rest of the Pac-10 Championships.
